On this Wednesday, September 7, the Opening Ceremony of Rio 2016 Paralympics Games took place in Maracanã Stadium. The ceremony’s trademark was its touching aspect. The public, both at the venue and watching on TV, was awed by the creativity of the event’s visual. Some of the most thrilling moments of the night were Aaron ‘Wheelz Fotheringham skating at a mega ramp, the 160 Paralympics delegations parade, Amy Purdy dancing with a robot, and the Brazilian athlete Clodoaldo Silva lighting up the Paralympics pyre. The events happened under applause from the 80 thousand people at Maracanã. Just like in the Olympic Games, the pyre in the stadium will keep on burning during the whole Paralympics Games at Orla Conde, in the Porto Maravilha region, in front of the Candelária church.
